Job Description
The University of Tulsa’s IT Asset Management (ITAM) team is responsible for managing the lifecycle of all IT assets to ensure controls, gain visibility, optimize costs, and meet compliance expectations. ITAM analysts will support procurement, tracking, and disposal processes for both hardware and software assets. Preferred candidate is a courteous and professional individual who is process-driven and detail-oriented.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Facilitate the needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on selected products by ensuring that maintenance, support, and upgrade protection renewals are managed/handled/ordered in advance of their expiration.
Manage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offerings and identify savings opportunities.
Enter and maintain information to address budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contracts, and cost. Assist in the development of reporting to address management requirements to obtain information.
Analyze and design Software Asset Management (SAM) processes, including software requests, license pooling/checks, deployment, and retirement.
Champion policies and standards related to software asset management in conjunction with Procurement and IT Security.
Manage software assets within the IT Asset Management (ITAM) lifecycle. Analyze large volumes of software entitlement and deployment data.
Partner with University stakeholders to catalogue University owned software funded inside and outside of IT.
Build and manage complex licensing models, optimizing license usage based on key drivers (e.g., headcount, volume).
Evaluate licensing options (e.g., named vs. processor licensing, on-premise vs. cloud, owned vs. SaaS) and provide recommendations.
Report on external spend with technology suppliers.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
Skilled in asset management principles and processes.
Understanding of software publishers’ licensing models and deployment rights
Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
Strong attention-to-detail and follow-up skills
Highly motivated and motivating team player with the skills and abilities to manage changing priorities.

Equivalent Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, Business Administration, Accounting, or commensurate experience in a similar role
Proven track record of successful resource allocation, budget management, and adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster positive relationships both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferably in information systems, MBA, or relevant advanced degree. Additional management and technical experience can be used in lieu of an advanced degree.
Certifications in SAM, IAITAM, ITIL, CSAM, ISO, CITAM, CHAMP, or CAMP.
Physical Demands
Typing/Keyboarding: Proficiency in typing and using a computer keyboard for extended periods.
Speaking: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Reaching: Ability to reach for items on shelves or in cabinets.
Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to operate office equipment, handle files, and perform other tasks.
