Description
The College of Business and Analytics at SIU Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for a position within the School of Accountancy. The individual will teach courses within the residential and/or online accounting undergraduate degree completion program.

Examples of Duties
The individual will teach courses within the residential and/or online accounting undergraduate degree completion program. No service activity is expected. Each of the three-credit hour courses are at the undergraduate or master's level. The courses may be financial accounting, cost accounting, accounting systems, and auditing to include
1. ACCT 360 – Accounting Systems Operations: Accounting information systems analysis and design. Focusing on internal controls, data modeling, databases, documentation tools and information retrieval to improve business decisions.
2. ACCT 460 – Auditing: – Provides an overview of processes for planning and executing a risk-based audit; explains the procedures auditors use to evaluate internal controls; describes the tests auditors conduct to substantiate financial statement accounts.
Employment is for fall semester 2024 and spring semester 2025, with anticipated employment for ensuing semesters. This is a term appointment and does not lead to tenure.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: For appointment at the rank of Assistant Lecturer, applicants must hold a master’s degree in accounting by date of hire. Applicants must have at the effective date of employment of 08/16/2024 a minimum of five years of professional experience and/or certification that would classify them as "professionally qualified" under the College of Business and Analytics’ accreditation standards. Applicants must be strongly committed to quality teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching preferably six or more semesters of teaching experience, preferably at an AACSB-accredited institution, within two or more of the course topics listed above. Professional business experience and/or a CPA is preferred.
