Posting Context Statement
For over 100 years, University of Idaho Extension in Ada County has been improving people’s lives by engaging the university and communities through research-based education. Areas of expertise are Community Food Systems, Urban Horticulture, Family and Community Health and Nutrition, and 4-H Youth Development. It is the largest Extension office in the state. This position assists six full time faculty members with technical support for financial operations and leads a three-person administrative specialist team in providing comprehensive business process services to faculty, staff and volunteers.
Position Overview
Responsible for providing basic to moderately complex technical support for daily financial operations by performing a variety of tasks following policies and procedures. In addition to processing a variety of financial transactions and maintaining records, the position compiles data and generates routine financial reports. May handle cash, manage accounts receivable and/or payable transactions.

Duties may include:
Purchase identified goods and services
Submit invoices and receipts for payment
Accept and recording payments
Reconcile purchasing card statements
Process travel claims and reimbursements
Track transactions through completion in the centralized financial system
File and maintain unit-level finance documents
Originate personnel actions and processing corrections to pay in the centralized finance system
Compile and summarizing data for routine reports
Distribute financial reports
Research discrepancies
Provide assistance to departments on questions related to invoices, receipts, financial reports and other transactions
Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
One year providing financial or business process support within established policies and procedures
Experience using computer software and applications for researching and compiling financial information, preparing summaries and reports
A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance may substitute for the above experience
