Job Summary
PIONEER THEATRE COMPANY, Utah’s professional regional theatre in residence at University of Utah has an opening on our staff for a motivated, skilled scenic carpenter. This person should have a working knowledge of technical theatre and scenic construction, including both wood and metal. Must be self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail, perform safe working practices, and execute tasks efficiently and accurately both individually and as part of a team. Experience with stage rigging, finish carpentry, and CNC fabrication is a plus.

This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Essential Duties:

● Maintain clean and safe working environment

● Work as a team member while maintaining a positive attitude in times of stress.

● Construct scenery as directed by supervisor as specified by drawings, and in line with common theatrical practices.

●Completing projects on schedule with a high level of quality.

● Load-­in and Strike scenery safely.

● Perform modification and maintenance of all scenery as directed by supervisor.

● Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of full time professional experience in one or all of the above listed skills technical theatrical skills or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required.
