About This Role:

The Department of Entomology at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, is looking to hire a full-time Program/Project Coordinator with extensive beekeeping experience and knowledge to support the implementation of daily operations associated with our American Honey Institute (http://www.entomology.ksu.edu/honey). This position is also responsible for coordinating and maintaining the necessary training assets for our multi-level beekeeping courses and honey production efforts.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager
Preferred Qualifications:

Master Beekeeper Certificate.
Experience working with a commercial beekeeper and completion of an approved apprenticeship training program and/or a minimum of 5 years of beekeeping experience.
Energetic with endurance.
Team Player with ability to fit in with disparate personalities and groups.
Other Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Kansas Class C Driver's License within 90 days of employment.
Basic familiarity with Microsoft Business Tools and ability to learn supporting programs such as Quick books and WIX.
Ability to conduct field work in remote locations.
Ability to work under adverse conditions for long and irregular hours,
Must be capable of wearing a bee suit in high/extreme temperatures (excess of 105 degrees).
Ability to cope with stress.
Highly organized and able to perform in a professional manner
Ability to stay oriented on task.
Ability to provide clear two-way communications.
Ability to deal with emergencies in a timely manner.
Portray a positive attitude.
