Job Summary

This position will assist the head coach of women's golf in the areas of recruiting/scouting, instruction, academic monitoring, player development, and additional responsibilities assigned by the women's golf head coach.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

RECRUITING/SCOUTING STUDENT-ATHLETES TO MAINTAIN A COMPETITION: Develop a good relationship with coaches and contacts of high schools, junior colleges, clubs, and community-sponsored groups; Contact and evaluate local, state, national, and international perspective student-athletes; Conduct official and unofficial visits on campus; Maintain knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules to pass annual certification test; Coordinate recruiting efforts with NCAA Compliance Officer as required; Comply with all regulatory agencies and associations pertaining to sport program governing rules and regulations.

INSTRUCTING STUDENT-ATHLETES: During practice sessions, team and individually. Responsible for the program in the absence of the head coach.

ACADEMIC MONITORING OF STUDENT-ATHLETES: Review academic progress reports of each professor in a timely manner, consistent with athletic departmental procedure; Maintain a level of sensitivity toward class absenteeism.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE HEAD COACH: Adhere to all athletic administrative operating procedures and budgets; Assist with planning team travel (lodging & meals); Structuring team activities; Monitoring practice and assisting with the practices for both teams on a daily basis; Recruit students for various areas across the United States; Assist with administrative duties, including e-mail, creating spreadsheets, answering phone, and part-time travel to assist both Head Coaches.

OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline with preference given to coaching and recruiting related experience in coaching golf at the collegiate level. CPR certification must be completed within two months of hire. Valid Driver's License is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

The assistant golf coach will display an experienced professional playing background in order to give our student-athletes the highest insight and experiences that they may encounter in their future as a professional golfer. They will also travel with the golf team throughout the continental USA for women's golf team tournaments and will also travel the world recruiting student-athletes for the Augusta University women's golf team.

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/ databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday-Friday ( work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
