Job Summary
This position is designed to assist in administrative and technical work in support of the tobacco cessation program and cancer prevention programming. This person will assist in planning, implementation, and careful, exact documentation within the cessation clinic, and institutional guidelines. The position will assist in scheduling cessation clinic visits, coaching cessation groups, and follow-up of the cessation patients in the Georgia Cancer Center Tobacco Cessation Program. A key component of this position will be to serve as a tobacco cessation counselor/coach to those enrolled in cessation services, whether via virtual or face-to-face meetings.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Tobacco Cessation Clinic: Assist in maintaining clinic timelines by working with the tobacco cessation coordinator, physician appointments, and clinic staff workflow. Maintain outstanding relationships through multiple methods of communication with tobacco cessation patients. Weekly counseling sessions for tobacco cessation patients and follow-ups through one year of program participation.
Tobacco Cessation Coaching Services: Assist in scheduling all patient cessation counseling/coaching sessions. Lead cessation counseling/coaching sessions. Maintain all required documentation related to patient visits, medications, cessation counseling/coaching sessions, and follow-up communications with subjects.
Other Duties: Attending staff training and research meetings. Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principals. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline and experience in community outreach, health care, research and/or social services.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Pay Band: B8
Salary Minimum: $45,400 - $50,453
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Recruitment Period: 6/26/24 - Until Filled
