College/Department Information

The Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) at Augusta University is part of Enrollment and Student Affairs. We are dedicated to providing guidance and assistance for students to help ease the financial burdens associated with their education. We inform prospective and current students of the resources and services available to them to secure funds for financing their education. We advise students of their eligibility for financial assistance, assist with completing documents, and counsel students regarding their rights and responsibilities of receiving aid. Our goal is to help students and their families make the best use of financial aid resources so they may achieve their educational accomplishments.

Job Summary

Responsible for providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, and administration regarding all aspects of Financial Aid. Serve as the initial contact for students, providing information and guidance concerning procedures for students and parents with regard to the Financial Aid process. Maintain confidentiality of information, knowledge of the consolidated campuses, and financial aid basics.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Greet customers, answer phones, and respond to students, parents, faculty, staff, and alumni with general financial aid questions. Answer 50-75% of questions and determine if a customer's need can be handled on the frontline or if the next level of attention is needed. Review and inform customers of the status of financial aid. Must be able to multitask, maintain high energy, and provide dynamic customer service.

ASSISTANCE: Assist with orientation and registration, complete surveys in conjunction with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, and work with the Business office as needed.

ADMINISTRATIVE: Answer and route incoming calls with high energy and friendly voice. Respond to emails received in the financial aid accounts. Assist students and faculty with Banner Self Service (POUNCE) and online form questions.

DATA ENTRY: Download and verify application information. Collect and route or process incoming documents. Scan and index incoming documents as appropriate. Assist with student notifications of missing documents, outstanding balances, and missing requirements. Provide information regarding types of financial aid and qualifications required.

OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent from a State or Federal accrediting organization and two years of work experience in customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Financial Aid or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/ databases.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.

ABILITIES

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to interact with all groups of people with various backgrounds and interests.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday-Friday

Pay Band: B4

Salary: Minimum: $17.02/hourly - Midpoint: $17.08/ hourly

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
