Job Summary
The Center for Disability and Access (CDA) provides accommodations to students with disabilities on campus. The primary responsibility for this position is to open and close the office Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm (this position is not eligible for telework). Additionally, the Front Desk Coordinator will also work extensively with faculty, staff, and students in providing exceptional customer service, resolving complaints, answering phones, and supporting operations at the CDA office.

Responsibilities
Open and close the office 8A-5P Monday-Friday with occasional evening hours required.
Supervise the daily operations of the front office area including supervision of any part-time student staff.
Maintain office supplies and recommend purchasing of supplies
Assist in the exam accommodation program by preparing exams, scheduling exam space, and scanning/emailing exams.

Customer Service:
Provide direct student and faculty-facing support, serving as a primary receptionist.
Resolve problems and respond to complaints.
Provide customer service training to front desk staff.
Answer phone calls for busy dynamic work space.

Recruiting:
In coordination with the Associate Director responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training of part time student staff and evaluating the performance of student staff.

Department Procedures:
Assist in the revision and addition of department procedures related to the front desk and customer service operations.
Other duties as assigned, including providing support for all the office functions and other services as appropriate. Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in business or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.

Preferences
Associate degree in a related field or equivalency plus two years of related experience or comparable knowledge working in higher education setting, ability to use logic, reasoning, prioritize tasks, computer skills including word processing spreadsheet software and database software.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act preferred.
