College/Department Information

The Supply Management Division goals are to provide a comprehensive, fully integrated supply management program that provides quality, cost effective and timely services through a well-trained, professional staff and technical resources, to meet current and future needs of Augusta University.

Job Summary

This position supports all aspects of Augusta University Supply Management Logistics & Property Management Department. This position will perform a variety of clerical and manual tasks in the receipt, verification, storage and issuance and delivery of various supplies, materials, gasses and equipment for the institution.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Shipments

Receive and unpack shipments and verify contents against purchase orders and invoices

Record receiving reports of all merchandise

Prepare reports concerning shortages and damaged materials received

Store material according to established procedures

Generate storeroom issued documents using microcomputers, printer hardware and interdepartmental developed software

Operating Vehicles & Shipments

Operate light or medium weight trucks and equipment to pick up and deliver materials and supplies according to priority of need or predetermined schedule

Load and unload truck by hand and forklift

Transport and transfer supplies and equipment from one storage area to another

Maintain and Assist

Assist in special inventory of materials, gasses and equipment

Maintain clean and orderly conditions in assigned areas

Customer Service

Respond to customers' requests in a professional helpful and timely manner in person and on the telephone; provide directions and other helpful information to visitors while performing distribution duties

Occasionally may be required to work evening/weekend hours

Other Duties

All other related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization. Must possess valid Driver's License.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES

Good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

Computer skills to operate e-mail client and internet browser

Experience in supply and distribution functions

Understanding and knowledge of standard office equipment, carts, and hand-held computers

Understanding and ability to practice safe methods of loading and unloading delivery trucks

Must be dependable

Must possess a valid driver's license; ability to safely drive large trucks

Ability to prioritize and organize tasks/duties

Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds; perform tasks requiring a lot of walking, pulling/pushing, climbing, reaching, kneeling/stooping

Ability to interact with staff, management, and customers; maintain confidentiality

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F

Pay Band: 4

Salary Minimum: $17.02/ hour - $19.16/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
