Job Summary
As the Development Generalist, DEI at the University of Michigan's Office of University Development, you will play a pivotal role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through strategic donor engagement and fundraising leadership. You will report to the Leadership Annual Giving Officer, DEI, and oversee the development of annual giving strategies, coordinate impactful stewardship efforts, and lead strategic communications to cultivate donor relationships and secure philanthropic support. Your ability to connect with others will help to guide the university's fundraising priorities and promote a culture of giving and engagement within the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) donor and volunteer community.

Responsibilities*
Coordinate prospect research activities to identify potential donors and volunteers with an affinity for Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) programs, applying data-driven insights to prioritize outreach efforts.
Lead the annual giving strategy for ODEI units, overseeing mail and email solicitations (conducted three times annually for primary units) and creating crowdfunding pages and social media plans to amplify ODEI fundraising.
Develop partnerships and understanding of ODEI units, including mission and work, to identify and tell stories of impact.
Produce compelling fundraising materials, including proposals and impact reports, to communicate ODEI's mission, priorities, and impact to external audiences.
Use data analytics and market research to inform communication strategies and identify new opportunities for engaging donors and volunteers.
Manage stewardship for donors giving less than 10K annually.
Required Qualifications*
3+ years of experience in development or providing administrative support, in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Project coordination experience.
Deep commitment to and experience discussing, integrating, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Strong written communication skills.
Experience creating databases and generating reports
