General Description
The Information Technology Services department is seeking to fill (2) positions. The Computer Support Technician must think critically, recognize trends, and communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and senior administrators. The Computer Support Technician should possess excellent organizational skills and must be able to prioritize and manage multiple short and long-term projects to meet deadlines. While this position is stationed at the Searcy Campus, the employee will be expected to float between the ASUB campuses (Beebe, Heber Springs, Little Rock Air Force Base, and Searcy) as needs and projects demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Computer Support Technician position is primarily responsible for Smart Classroom Support and Video Conference Technology support on ASUB Campuses/locations.
Resolve campus hardware/software issues
Monitor the ITS Helpdesk phone line by answering calls, creating tickets, and completing tickets
Manage Incident, Request, Problem, Change and Project tasks using the ServiceDesk ITSM platform. Fulfill standard service requests within specified SLA targets.
Provide excellent customer service skills including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related field. Relevant education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement; plus a minimum of one year related experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A valid driver’s license in good standing is required due to the this position regularly driving university vehicles.
Knowledge of the limitations and use of hardware and software at all ASU- Beebe campuses. Ability to analyze computer system problems or errors efficiently. Ability to read and interpret technical literature and evaluate product a acceptability and/or quality as needed for all ASU-Beebe Campuses. Ability to code and test computer programs and write program documentation and integrate updates. Applies principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
