Intern, Technical Undergraduate Year Round - Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD), Hybrid

What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Year-Round Technical Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team!
The Computer-Aided Drafting & Design department is seeking a student intern to support drafting, design, drawing management and LiDAR surveying on a year round basis.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Assist the CADD/BIM Team Lead and team Technologists to prepare, analyze, track and report projects for the team
- Develop and integrate Center documents (forms, procedures, checklists, etc.), reports, metrics and briefings to Leadership
- Assist with the planning, coordinating and management of department work tracking activities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of program and department metric dashboards
- Assist with and identify issues and contribute to the development of innovative process improvements and system solutions
- Coordinate and integrate Tiered Accountability Boards for the department
- Assist the team in facilitating Maximo service requests, Maximo service orders, Purchase Orders; interface with Leadership
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Assists in modifying existing buildings, systems and infrastructure drawings to improve quality and accuracy of existing record drawings
- Update information database systems and related information technology applications
- Assist in field walks to gather information, conducts studies, performs calculations and prepares original layouts and sketches to present proposed designs
- Assists with creation and modification of three-dimensional models and detailed drawings for buildings and systems and create/illustrate systems design, layout and functions
- Assist in location surveys using advanced technology equipment
- Assists with and partners with Architects, engineers, contractors and customers to discuss and interpret design concepts to determine requirements of detailed working drawings
- Assists with collaboration with engineering and design partners to ensure project related drawings are delivered
- Strive to ensure that the process delivers the results needed to achieve the enterprises' goals
- Follow process design and can describe the overall flow
- Work in ways that enable others working in the process to do their work effectively
This intern position is hybrid, where the selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
At Sandia, we value the important work done by our interns and its contribution to National Security. Because of this, our interns earn competitive pay rates. Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require:
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
- Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:
- On track to obtain a technical certificate or degree in Architecture or engineering
- Demonstrated analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in an environment with many duties and assignments
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to coordinate between Sandia and university partners
- Excellent written and verbal-communications skills, including the development and delivery of presentations and reports
- Ability to understand and interpret Architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, telecom, documents, drawings, and schematics
- Experience with Business Process Management Attributes
- Proficient in the Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, excel, PowerPoint and Team)

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
