Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Teach both lower-division and upper-division undergraduate Mathematics courses.
Contribute professional service to the department, college, university and/or the professional community.
Establish and maintain a program of high-quality research that includes regular publication in peer-reviewed journals, dissemination of research at conferences, and ongoing efforts to obtain external research funding.
A strong commitment to excellence in teaching undergraduate level mathematics courses ranging from general education courses through more advanced mathematics courses.
A strong commitment to student success.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
A PhD, or the foreign equivalent, in Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Mathematical Sciences with an emphasis in analysis, algebra, or discrete mathematics, or a related discipline is required.
Research experience in analysis, algebra, or discrete mathematics (or related mathematical areas) and a record of scholarly products produced from such research.
Research areas that would complement and/or augment the existing faculty research strengths in the Department of Mathematics.
Preferred Qualifications
Post-doctoral experience.
Potential for obtaining external research funding.
Interest in contributing to the development and implementation of a potential graduate program in mathematics and in supporting other graduate programs at the university where applicable.
