Qualifications:
BTECH 502, Regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices in Drug, Diagnostics and Medical Development, is a 2-unit graduate-level introductory course that will discuss the relationship between drug development and device development sponsors and the governmental health authorities and regulatory agencies. It will explore the regulatory frameworks for drug and device development with emphasis on the US and European agencies and regulations, and examine the process of filing for drug approval at the different stages.
This course will be taught live synchronously online and will meet on Tuesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 pm during the 2025 spring term (Feb 3 - May 25).
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular virtual office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's/Master's/Ph.D. in Life Sciences with 5 years of professional experience in Regulatory Affairs in the biotechnology, medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $4,966 - $6,872 (2 units) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
