What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Facilities Technologist to perform work planning and control activities in support of Center 4740 Maintenance Operations. In this role you will apply facilities and project related knowledge and experience to ensure processes and priorities are followed, avoid overlapping work activities, address customer/facility availability conflicts, and achieve better resource utilization. You will serve to support the integration of cross-project elements including maintenance team leads, maintenance craftspeople, the Work Coordination and Control (WCC), Facility Project Managers, engineering, responsible mission partners, and customers.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Decide level of planning or field scoping needed based on identified area, asset, and/or task-related hazards.
- Perform technical work to support engineering and maintenance activities for construction, maintenance, inspection, and facilities and infrastructure system operations.
- Be accountable for the Maintenance Planning Process and Corrective Maintenance Job Plans for an assigned team.
- Build and publish scheduling model for each assigned maintenance team based on work type, priority historical data, and team role.
- Lead monthly backlog reviews with Maintenance Team Leaders.
- Work closely with key partners to ensure accurate and thorough work packages that are ready for scheduling and execution.
- Review work orders (WAPPR) and detail the orders (work type, priority, target start, JSHE/Access codes, job plan, estimated time, labor, materials, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Initiate and/or acquire permits and coordinate planned outages and impairments.
- Perform tasks in asset identification management process, participate in O&M strategy, RCM, develop Maximo PMs, job plans, standards/estimates, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Identify area/site and equipment related ES&H hazards and advise Safety Engineer.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100% of the time.
Salary Range:
$60,300 - $116,000
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- High School Diploma plus five (5) years of related experience; or an Associate degree in Engineering Technology plus 1 year of related experience
- Experience in facilities structural (i.e. millwright, rotating equipment repair, carpentry, locksmith, etc.) maintenance and operations.
- Experience using CMMS software system for asset management and work order systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configurations, and lockout/tagout policies and procedures.
- Understanding of various physical, structural, mechanical, or electrical documents including drawings, schematics, and operations manuals.
- Five (5) year Approved Apprenticeship Program Certification.
- Possess an active current State Journeyman License.
- Experience using Maximo software system with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
- Experience in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) environments.
- Demonstrated success working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
- Active DOE/DOD Security Clearance.
- Deep understanding of Facilities processes and procedures.
About Our Team:
Maintenance Planning Services is responsible for the process of planning, scheduling, coordination, and control of maintenance activities, and properly emphasizing equipment availability. The application of a System Engineer Program in accordance with DOE Orders in the planning and execution of maintenance activities. Responsible for the process of developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining the master equipment list (MEL) at a level that clearly identifies the structures, systems, and components (SSCs) that are part of the safety basis. Types of Maintenance. The process for utilization of appropriate types of maintenance (i.e., preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, surveillance and testing, and corrective maintenance) to provide for safe, efficient, and reliable operation of safety. The incorporation of the configuration management program to control approved modifications and to prevent unauthorized modifications.
