Staff Scientist
Job Description
Summary
A Staff Scientist position is available in Dr. Jin Wang's group to work on small molecule drug discovery. The Staff Scientist will develop biochemical and cellular assays and perform drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) studies to support the drug discovery work within the group.
Job Duties
- Assay development
- Drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) studies
- Instrument maintenance
- Develop biochemical and cellular assays to support medicinal chemistry in drug discovery projects
- Perform drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) studies
- Maintain HPLC and LCMS instruments
- Report weekly to the PI about the project progress
- Plan, directand conductresearch experiments
- Evaluateand analyzes data
- Developresearch techniques and performs applications required for specific research projects
- May conduct literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study
- Documentresults of experiments and reports to principal investigators
- May supervise, schedule and coordinate the activities of less experienced research staff
- Performother job related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Three years of post doctoral research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in chemistry
- Post doctoral experience in drug discovery and drug metabolism
- Extensive experience with LCMS and LC-triple quad MS
