Job Description
Summary
The position will be a liaison between clinical department schedulers and insurance verification. Will ensure that information needed to properly financially clear patients is received by the departments. Will provide training, feedback and statistics to department and direct leadership. This position reviews electronic verification process errors and can conclude what caused the error. Will effectively communicate with leadership and departments on trends and errors and will create documentation on best practices scheduling as it relates to insurance verification.
Job Duties
- Works with other departments to improve the efficiency and quality of current workflows.
- Audits current workflows, providing feedback to leadership.
- Uses reporting to track trends, research trends and make suggestions for workflow changes.
- Understands electronic authorization process and manages reports to ensure proper responses.
- Reviews and researches denials to provide feedback to departments.
- Provides milestone reports on projects.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge related to CPT and DX coding.
- Knowledge related to scheduling.
- Epic scheduling and insurance verification experience.
- Knowledge of electronic authorization of services.
