Summary

The Boeynaems lab seeks a Research Assistant I to study how protein condensation is implicated in the etiology of neurodegenerative disease and brain cancer. The work includes cell culture, microscopy, and mouse husbandry and experimentation.

Job Duties

Plans, executes and conducts protocols for research experiments, including but not limited to cell culture, microscopy, mass spectrometry, immunofluorescence, DNA preparation, and general lab techniques.
Maintains the mouse colony and assists graduate students with mouse experimentation, including but not limited to surgery, tissue collection and processing, and immunostaining.
Collects, compiles, analyzes and presents data to the PI and other lab members.
Handles administrative and organizational lab management duties include assisting PI with administration, tracking inventory, organizing lab events, documenting and storing critical reagents.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a related field.
Proficient in mouse studies.
Strong organizational and experimental skills.
Communicative and able to work well in a team.
