Summary

The lab is looking to hire a Research Technician II to work on projects related to cholesterol biosynthesis in the intestine and liver-directed genome editing. This technician will support the research efforts of the lab by producing Adeno-Associated Viral vectors and performing experiments in mouse models. The technician will have a Bachelor's degree in a basic science discipline, and have some background with molecular biology tools.

Job Duties

  • Producesviral vectors on a weekly basis to support ongoing studies in the lab.
  • Performs basic mouse husbandry that includesgenotyping, colony maintenance and performing experiments.
  • Prepares, executes, and documents experiments thatincludes searching the literature and analyzing data.
  • Orderslaboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Ensuresclean and organized work environment.
  • Keep records of safety trainings for the lab.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related discipline. Must be organized and able to work as a member of a larger team.
  • Has strong work ethic and effective time management.
