Summary

The lab is looking to hire a Research Technician II to work on projects related to cholesterol biosynthesis in the intestine and liver-directed genome editing. This technician will support the research efforts of the lab by producing Adeno-Associated Viral vectors and performing experiments in mouse models. The technician will have a Bachelor's degree in a basic science discipline, and have some background with molecular biology tools.

Job Duties

Producesviral vectors on a weekly basis to support ongoing studies in the lab.
Performs basic mouse husbandry that includesgenotyping, colony maintenance and performing experiments.
Prepares, executes, and documents experiments thatincludes searching the literature and analyzing data.
Orderslaboratory supplies and equipment.
Ensuresclean and organized work environment.
Keep records of safety trainings for the lab.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

B.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related discipline. Must be organized and able to work as a member of a larger team.
Has strong work ethic and effective time management.
