Job Description Summary:

Responsible for the oversight, management, and success of outreach initiatives and special programming to achieve career services objectives and goals. This position directly supports
the advancement of equitable career and employment outcomes for priority populations.

Job Description:

Description of Duties & Tasks

1. Responsible for the oversight and success of career services outreach initiatives and

special programming ; identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods

and procedures; provides recommendations concerning process changes, reviews with

appropriate management staff, and implements improvements.

2. Designs, implements, and evaluates proactive intervention, retention, and support

activities for career services special programs and programming with heightened focus

on equitable outcomes for disproportionately challenged and underserved student

groups; provides measurable outcomes associated with student employment and

career goal attainment.

3. Oversees the coordinating, planning, and implementation of career programming and

outreach activities including training of staff and colleagues, scheduling supportive

interactions with internal and external stakeholders, and organizing attendance at

events supporting career readiness initiatives that focus on increasing employment

outcomes, THECB cohort efforts, and closing equity gaps.

4. Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines special project staff

and student workers while adhering to organizational human resource policies and

procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination

personnel actions for positions supervised.

5. Prepares and presents various reports and other necessary correspondence;

supervises the preparation and maintenance of related reports, records, and files;

ensures the proper documentation of activities.

6. Tracks, collects, analyzes, and produces reports on student career intent and career

outcomes.

7. Participates in the development and implementation of marketing, communication,

and advertising strategies to promote assigned programs/programming, projects, and

services; serves as a liaison to the Student Affairs Communications and College

Marketing Offices. Ensures district-wide consistency of front-line career services

communications under the guidance of the Career Services Director.

8. Develops and maintains partnerships with internal ACC departments and organizations

with the intent of streamlining access to career services program opportunities for

student groups such as Career Scholars and other identified priority groups.

9. Monitors project data collection of outreach efforts. Monitors student access and

retention data and assists in the development and implementation of outreach

programs by incorporating data analysis and current research.

10.Participates in institutional committees and training related to student success and

retention goals that enhance opportunities for ACC students. Serves as an active

member of the college-wide Career Services Committee.

11.Maintains and applies up-to-date knowledge on legislation, state-wide, and National

Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) policies that impact student career

readiness.

12.Serves as a communication liaison for recruitment and outreach efforts with students

regarding retention and student success services; works collaboratively with internal.

Technology Skills

  • Career services specific technologies and platforms utilized by the College such as Indeed, Jobscan, LinkedIn, Big Interview, and Handshake, YouScience, Focus2, Career Coach, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using computer applications, presentation technologies, interactive video and meeting technology, or other current learning technologies for effective training at the community college level.
  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • May also use social media, work with design platforms and update program webpage.

Required Work Experience

Two years related work experience.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree.

Special Requirements

Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$62,536 - $78,170
