The University of South Florida, St. Petersburg campus, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Instruction in History with expertise in modern US History, to start in August 2025. The assigned teaching load will be 4-4 and will include the modern US History survey (US History since 1877) and upper-level courses that reflect the department’s needs as well as the instructor’s expertise and interests. The area of expertise is open, though preference may be given to candidates whose interests complement or expand the department’s offerings, with particular preference given to candidates specializing in the social, economic, or business history of the US in the twentieth century. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in hand or expected by the time of appointment.
