The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate project files, monitoring and managing the project budget, and ensuring that all activities are completed in line with the guidelines set forth in the grant proposal.
The Project Manager will work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate project needs and community engagement.
This is primarily a remote position.

Job Function:

The Project Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate project files, monitoring and managing the project budget, and ensuring that all activities are completed in line with the guidelines set forth in the grant proposal.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Minimum Experience:

At least one year experience in a community-serving program and/or other community-based agencies or organizations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in project management or coordination.
  • Experience working with community-based projects or in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of child development, early childhood education, or early intervention.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of the project, including outreach and recruitment; create detailed project plan, outline informed project timelines/deadlines, produce key deliverables, and ensure all activities align with the goals and objectives outlined in the grant proposal.
  • Coordinate program staffing; hire, train, and supervise student employees. Ensure employees have necessary resources and guidance to perform their roles effectively.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Whitely Institute and other community partners.
  • Develop research-informed curriculum, including print and digital materials for group learning.
  • Liaise between Ball State team members and community team members. Coordinate, plan and lead project meetings.
  • Attend community meetings; offer updates, address concerns, and ensure project progress is on track. Develop and deliver presentations promoting the program to community organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and identify metrics related to program effectiveness. Prepare reports for the funding agency.
  • Implement a system for maintaining organized project files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.

  • Monitor the project budget, make necessary purchases, and process reimbursements in a timely manner. Learn and effectively navigate BSU systems (e.g., SciQuest, OneDrive).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
