The National Quantum Laboratory (QLab) at the University of Maryland (UMD) in College Park invites applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct cutting-edge research at the interface of quantum computation and condensed matter theory. Research topics include practical quantum simulation and computation, phase transitions and nonequilibrium dynamics in strongly-correlated and open quantum many-body systems, as well as advanced numerical simulation techniques with a focus on tensor network state methods.
The research will be supervised by Professors Thomas Barthel and Norbert Linke. QLab is a user facility supporting the global community of quantum researchers, educators, and entrepreneurs with access to state-of-the-art quantum computing resources and expertise. There will be plenty of opportunities to leverage these resources and to interact and collaborate with QLab fellows, users, students, and interns as well as the wider UMD quantum community including the Joint Quantum Institutes (JQI) and Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science (QuICS).
