Job Description
The Department of Management in the School of Business at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management starting August 2025.
A Ph.D. in Management or a related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent is required for appointment. ABD candidates may be considered only on the condition of full doctoral completion by August 2025. Primary teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and master’s-level courses in management, with a preference for specialization in innovation management, healthcare management, or technology management. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to provide highly effective teaching, have a commitment to conducting high-quality scholarly research in the area of specialization and publish in peer-reviewed journals consistent with the standards of AACSB, advise and mentor students, and engage in service to the college community. The School of Business particularly values experiential, student-centered, and innovative teaching approaches and expects faculty to conduct active, engaged classrooms.
Candidates should be committed to further enhancing our collegial environment among all students and faculty demonstrated through culturally responsive course design and pedagogy, equity-minded student engagement and mentorship, and development of intercultural competencies needed for meaningful citizenship.
The Department of Management supports undergraduate management concentrations and minors in the following areas: Management, Human Resources Management, Supply Chain Management, Leadership, and Business Studies. It also supports the MBA track in Strategy, Innovation, and Leadership, as well as a new Master of Science in Management and Organizations.
Qualifications
● Ph.D. in Management or related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution or equivalent (ABD candidates may be considered only on the condition of full doctoral completion by August 2025).
● Possess a portfolio of teaching or industry experience, or demonstrate a teaching philosophy that ensures effectiveness in delivering management courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
● Demonstrate evidence of scholarly achievement, including a commitment to high-quality research and a track record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications
● Interest or specialization in one of the following areas: innovation management, healthcare management, technology management, or related topics including but not limited to AI, digital economy, and the future of work.
● Experience or capability to develop new courses and programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels in these areas, and both in-person and online modalities.
