We are seeking an experienced Pre and Post Op nurse for our outpatient ambulatory clinic at City of Hope Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in Irvine. This RN opportunity includes $20,000.00 Sign-On Bonus.
As a successful candidate, you will:
- Provide direct patient care in either in the outpatient or hospital setting.
- Patient Assessment: perform comprehensive assessments of patients, including obtaining medical history, conducting physical examination, and reviewing laboratory test results. They assess the patient’s vital signs, allergies, and any specific needs they may have related to the surgery.
- Preparing Patients: ensure that patients are adequately prepared for surgery. This includes giving pre-operative instructions, such as fasting, medication guidelines, and pre-procedure hygiene. They answer questions and address any concerns the patient may have, providing emotional support and reassurance.
- Referrals and Documentation: coordinate any necessary referrals or additional diagnostic test required before surgery. They also ensure all pre-operative documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible to the surgical team.
- Safety Measures: confirm the patient’s identity, review consent forms, and verify surgical site markings.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in nursing is required.
- Three to five years related experience.
- *For Perioperative Service – Requirement of 1-year perioperative experience or formal Perioperative nursing specialty course completed prior to application or within 6 months of hire or transfer.
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications should include:
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field
- National certification (must be obtained within three years of hire and must be maintained thereafter in order to retain Clinical Nurse III status)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $59.57 - $86.37 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
