The Department of Modern Languages is a vibrant and dynamic place where we foster multilingual and multicultural awareness and a sense of belonging and identity that prepares students to become global citizens. We offer courses and programs in Arabic, Chinese, Classical Studies, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Spanish Translation, and the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
There are undergraduate majors in French, German, and Spanish as well as an MA in Modern Languages and an MA and graduate certificate in TEFL. Learn more at k-state.edu/languages

This position is on-site, Manhattan campus.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or ABD in German or French (linguistics or literature/culture) or a related
field.
Native or near-native proficiency in German and English
Advanced proficiency in French
Expertise or interest in curriculum development and assisting with language
program development, particularly with Open Educational Resources
Successful candidate will value multicultural perspectives in both teaching and
research
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. obtained by August 2025
Commitment to active research profile
Other Requirements:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time
of employment.
