POSITION SUMMARY: This position performs academic administrative work in support of the Judy Genshaft Honors College and the College of Education on the Sarasota-Manatee campus. This position provides administrative coordination for assigned undergraduate and/or graduate programs, serving as a point of contact to students and faculty on matters related to course management and enrollment, program requirements, policies and procedures, and other administrative matters. Specific academic support functions include course scheduling, managing faculty credentials and records, and supporting specialized academic projects for assigned colleges. The Academic Program Specialist will also support academic programming for the Living Learning Community (an joint initiative by Judy Genshaft Honors College, College of Education, and Muma College of Business), including event planning, coordination, and purchasing during the academic year, and for summer camps.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support for instruction through administration of course syllabi, class, materials, exams, course evaluations, and processing course schedules for assigned areas.

Supports student academic administration through processing course permits, conducts honors designation and graduation checks, and fulfillment of other student related administrative requirements.

Provides support for the SM campus Living Learning Community and summer camps through administration of student recruitment and registration, event planning and preparation, room reservations and supply orders.

Supports the College of Education and Honors College initiatives. Provides assistance with various Henson Fund initiatives, including recruiting and hiring student workers, timesheet oversight, and preparing program assessment reports.

Performs other duties as assigned

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with four years of experience in office or administrative positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING: Strong organizational and project management skills, attention to detail, service oriented.
